Assam was honoured with the prestigious award for the Best Performing State under the National Mental Health Programme among the North-Eastern States Category.

Dr M S Lakshmi Priya, IAS Mission Director, National Health Mission Assam accompanied by State Officials received the award at the National Mental Health Conclave at DRDO Auditorium New Delhi today. The event was organised by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt of India.

Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Assam has conveyed his best wishes to the Health & Family Welfare Department on achieving the award. This award recognizes the untiring effort put in by the Health Department to improve the mental health scenario of the State.
