Public meeting at Gogamukh Tarajan on Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border: Call for maintaining peace and harmony

A massive public meeting was held at Tarajan in Jairampur, Gogamukh in Dhemaji district on the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border, on Monday.

The public meeting discussed the violence that took place on June 5 this month between a section of people of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh over land.

Local people claimed that there was no conflict between galo or adi, the main border of Tarajan area, and the people of Assam. 

And all kinds of business transactions have come to a standstill. Moreover, the students of Arunachal Pradesh studying in Assam have not returned to Nalbari and Jairampur in Gogamukh for studies.

In such a case whether it is from Assam or the people of Arunachal Pradesh, all the border people have appealed to all parties not to sow the seeds of violence on the border.
